We just started and already found some terrific Mom Groups to follow, such as WAHM groups, SAHM groups, shopping & bargain Mom groups, and various Mom groups for coming together for causes. And, we’re already obtaining a following in return from these groups and from many Moms out there who are interested in what we’re up to. To all of them… Thanks for the follow!
We’re still figuring out the unique micro-blogging world of Twitter, and want your feedback and suggestions. We’re in awe of the Moms out there attracting upwards of 1,000 followers! Give us a tweet and some tips (ref. this article), and we’ll reward you with an entry in one of our upcoming promotional prize drawings for our Private Beta go-live. We hope you’ll participate in our conversation and help make LoobaLee a valued ‘follow’ for Moms with kids — especially those Moms interested in dressing their kids in designer style.

It seems like a race for the retailers — who can clear out their Winter inventory the soonest? Discounts we’re seeing now are unprecedented – about a month earlier than last year’s activity.
We expect to see more price drops, more free shipping offers, and more “additional %’s” off on Winter Clearance. Note that the Boutiques sales lag the major retailers, but rather than deep discounts in March at the boutiques, we will probably see them by February (if not already in some stores). Watch your local stores closely for the best deals.

This is awesome! Why hasn’t anyone thought of this before? How many times have you wished you could purchase just one replacement glove or mitten (not only for your kids, but for yourself for that matter)? This should really boost mitten and glove sales through Lands End, already a popular source for children’s winter outwear.
How it works: All it takes to get in the “Club” is to purchase a pair of gloves or mittens from Lands End. That’s it. If you lose one, they will gladly allow you to purchase just a single glove or mitten (at current prices, and dependent on availability). And, the best part? Here’s a deal to checkout this weekend…
While we haven’t verified Sasha was wearing these shoes on Inaugural Day, we did find the style is available by Primigi at Hanna Andersson — on Clearance, for only $20! Regularly priced at $52.50 and at over 60% off, we recommend them as a Buy.
They come in a wide range of fun colors, Berry Patent, Red Patent, Silver Patent, Black Patent, Black, Bronze Leopard, and Pink Metallic Leopard. For just $20, you may as well pick up a couple of pair (they’ll surely re-sell well if still in excellent condition).
To get Sasha’s look, simply tie a matching bow on the side with nice grosgrain or satin ribbon, and wa-la!
By the way, we’re enjoying the creative license Michelle Obama takes with both her own and her children’s wardrobes. Look for small details like ribbons to add to an outfit (or even a pair of shoes) to make it unique.

We found this briefly posted on J. Crew’s website home page offering their sentiments on being part of this historical inauguration week.
It appears the Malia and Sasha’s Inaugural Day coats were specially designed for them by J. Crew and were not available in this seasons catalog. You can still get parts of their “look”, however, on crewcuts final sale. See the selections we found.
We’d like to get a confirmation on that — if you have any info, please leave us a note and let us know .
Per J. Crew, they plan to incorporate designs from the various Inauguration outfits worn by Michelle, Malia, and Sasha Obama in their upcoming lines (which we anticipate will sell very well!).

Gap & Old Navy are both offering 30% off on New Arrivals for Spring this weekend (through Sunday only), and Free Shipping on orders over $150 (code = “SPRING”). But, the deal is only on select new arrivals — not all Spring merchandise. We recommend this deal only if you have a need for something offered in the very short term (highly unlikely, we assume). Chances of this merchandise selling out now is low, and chances of it going on sale later is high.
All retailers will be offering similar promotions as we move into Spring, and most offer their promotions on a broader selection of merchandise. And, current “New Arrivals” will be old by March, and beginnning to Clearance out before most schools have Spring Break.
So, to stay on track with “outfitting your kids for virtually free”, try not to get wooed in by early season promotions for kids clothing.

The girls and Michelle Obama all looked fantastic today, don’t you think? So cheerful, so classy, and so normal!
As we speculated on the event in our short article Sunday, there appeared to be no secrets out of the bag as to what they would wear. Our hope that would look great but not be over-the-top came true! The girls wore outfits available and attainable by everyday families (especially when on sale!) from J. Crew.
Both last night and at today’s inauguration Malia and Sasha Obama wore crewcuts outfits and coats by J.Crew. Michelle Obama has repeatedly chose J. Crew throughout the campaign and events leading up to today.
The J. Crew website was down temporarily earlier today, perhaps due to a heavy load of traffic.
Can you still get the Sasha Malia style? Maybe in some stores. We found the Periwinkle and Peach/Pink-colored coats unavailable on-line. But, the silk sashes are still available, and we found a skirt in “cerise” orange, similar to what Sasha wore under her coat (we think though, she was wearing a dress that is likely sold out now). Any of these selections are great buys at current prices and will sell well on LoobaLee in the future (or you may be inclined to save them for posterity-sake).
