Hi Mindy,
Thanks for commenting, and I'm glad you found us again! I was so happy to find your comment this morning, because we just went through a big server migration and our blog was down for 4 days!! And, of course, it was right in the middle of a blog overhaul, so many of the links to our content are still being added back in. So, it was great to get your thoughtful comments right after the blog came back up.

Since you found us in 2009, we tried a couple different revenue models where Sellers pay for our services. Subscriptions, commissions, etc. None of them really took off, and quite honestly, none of them felt completely right either (check out Why LoobaLee) On the surface, the site may appear to be just another eBay knock-off, but its far more than that. Inside you'll find it fully customized to this market at every twist and turn, and we'll be adding more categories (Maternity is at the top of the list!) in the not too distant future too.

As of December 2010, we made the site FREE. And, its still easier to list than any other site in terms of number of clicks, not needing to write any sales text, no templates required etc. (but by the end of this year we're enhancing the data input and image upload to make it even easier). It's also less hassle. Buyers cannot checkout and end your listing without paying first. If they go through checkout and abandon payment (i.e. don't pay within 30 minutes), your listing goes right back on the site and its no-nevermind to you. Another "less hassle" advantage, is that we save your listings after they expire, and you can relist them all in one click. Finally, I always make sure potential buyers and sellers understand our focus on quality. You won't find any low quality, spammy listings on the site, because our listing approach prevents it.

Being a Free site, the marketing is mainly dependent on word of mouth, online social media to build awareness, online press through bloggers, etc. We also have several feeds and widgets that help sellers promote their listings online (e.g. on Facebook, on their own blogs, on Twitter, etc.). Online traffic pales in comparison to eBay (that's for sure), at least right now, until our base of listings grows and grows, but our repeat traffic is very high. The primary investing we continue to make in the site are ones to improve and enhance it, based on feedback from our users. We also have a few secret projects we're working on that I can't yet share, but that hit directly on our 'Why LoobaLee' mission.

So... thanks again for stopping by! If you need any help at all getting started, just email us at CustomerCare@LoobaLee.com. ~Suzanne

Funny.. I just found your site via a blog that you wrote on back in 2009. I went to this site and said, wow what a great idea. But then asked, how advertised is this site? Meaning, does this site get a lot of online traffic? I do ebay and have for years, but as you know it is a no win situation over there. I am thinking about becoming a member here. You should consider adding maternity clothing to this site. I have tons and tons of Maternity.. high brands, all EUC. Just a thought! I will be signing up after I drop off my son at school. Email me back if you have information that you think I can use, or just to say welcome. Thank you kindly, Mindy
