Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are launching yet another new fashion line this month under the brand Olsenboye, a name chosen from their Norwegian heritage. The collection, sold exclusively at JC Penney, will include fun and affordable pieces for teens and tweens. According to the twins, “it’s about quality, price and style. We really wanted it to be light hearted and just kind of a great line for really any age.” Prices will range from $20-$50 and will include skinny jeans, flannel shirts, colorful hoodies and logo tees. You can find the pre-launch of Olsenboye fashions at JC Penney beginning this Friday, November 6 with the full range slotted to be released in February 2010.

I’ll be curious to see the pre-launch — typically these star-studded ventures with superstores and large department stores fail to impress when it comes to real quality. Just looking at the video, the designs also appear to be inconsistent with the the $20 – $50 price point. In partnering with JC Penney, the line probably has to meet certain pricing parameters, since it will likely be marked down by 40% rather quickly.
