We came across a beautiful and free on-line magazine, “small” that we think you’ll enjoy. Small magazine features creative people working on a smaller scale for the smaller-sized. It is especially fun for parents, but also intended for any one who finds joy in things small.
From the editor - small is the “only kids magazine keeping design on a small scale and supporting small artists”.
The current issue features “the days are back”, a children’s fashion line-up for Fall featuring some fabulous photograhy, and “d.i.y. dress-up” that has some sweet ideas for every day dress-up play and halloween costumes for kids.
Issues are published on a quarterly basis, and we are looking forward to the Winter ‘08 issue coming soon. Meanwhile, you can peruse the 142 page Fall ‘08 issue for terrific fashion finds for children. Previous issues can also be reviewed to Spring ‘07, small’s introductory issue.

Another reminder…..It’s time to buy Halloween costumes - get them now while there is still somewhat of a selection availalbe. Sure, if you wait until the last minute you might get a great deal, but you also are taking a big risk that you won’t get what you want.
One thing to watch for is Halloween apparel in addition to costumes. Don’t wait too much longer… you’ll want enough time to get a few wears in if you guy. Here are some savings already in progress on Halloween styles:

The trio of children’s designer boutique websites from PLACE CAREE Ltd. (Melijoe, Bebeo, and KidinChic) are among our favorites. Usually we only drool over the amazing photography and latest European trends in children’s clothing designs, reference the site for to view complete lines, and wish we could partake in their special offers.
Truth is that shipping costs from Europe to the U.S. are nearly prohibitive from these sites unless your purchase is over about $500.
But, for a limited time, you can enjoy a sampling through Free Delivery. Melijoe is offering free delivery through October 12 on all Jean Bourget. We contacted customer service to verify the offer is extended to U.S. shoppers. This is no small value. Nor will you find a small selection. Melijoe carries the full line of Jean Bourget — where here in the U.S. we are likely to only see it bits and pieces.
Unfamiliar with the PLACE CAREE Ltd. Sites? Here you won’t find but a dozen or so brands on each site, but they carefully selected to offer the most trendy, luxury, and high-end designs for babies through teens. Here’s a quick guide:

You really must check them out! They are worth it for the visual appeal alone, but this is also a great time to give their services a try (which rate highly by the way across the web).

Today’s boutique at RueLaLa.com is Absorba, where you shop from a large selection of Absorba designer items for baby and children at 1/2 the retail price. Hurry though, because RuLaLa’s boutiques stay open for just 2 days and usually sell out faster.
“Rue La La is… an exclusive, invitation-only online destination where Members discover premier-brand, private sale Boutiques, each open for just a brief window of time.” You can, however, get on their waiting list for an invite.
We’ve had fun watching the boutiques, which range of womens’ and men’s apparel and accessories, baby and children’s clothing, and home furnishings. If you’re in the market for great bargains on designer children’s clothing it’s worth signing up to catch the occasional featured boutique for babies and kids.
