There are some notable shifts in winter clearance and sales this week. These sales are unheard of this early in the seasonal transition. 40-60% is the norm for after Christmas, but it’s early for 60-80% sales, and we seeing them practically everywhere.
We found Abercrombie Kids markdowns as low as 60%, and many as low as 50%. Hanna Andersson took another markdown, and you can now get remaining inventory at 75-80% savings. Boden took another markdown to 70%.
Practically every merchant has some markdowns in the 70%+ range. So those who don’t yet — will. Expect to buy low this season. And, expect to buy new Spring merchandise at introductory sales of 20-30% off (such as with Hanna Anderssons Early Bird Sale).

- While the Year-End sale has ended, the Sale inventory is still available — and, most of it is the same Sale inventory they’ve had on-line for months.

- Abercrombie Kids
- Winter Clearance is now both on-line and in stores. Save 30-50%. You’ll find an occasional 60% off item, such as “annie” hooded jacket for girls, reg. $100, now $39.90.
- BabyGap & GapKids
- We’ve noticed that most sale items in the “up to 60% off Holiday Sale” are only about 20% off. We predict deep discounts later.
- You might find better savings at the Gap Outlet, where sale prices advertised at up to 70% off.
- We’re expecting some new “buzz” in terms of card holder promotions, sweepstakes, ctc. in the near future, especially with the promotion of new Spring lines.
- Crazy 8
- Semi-Annual Sale: Save up to 60% on Winter clearance.
- You’ll find a large assortment of basic tees and accessories for just $2.99.
- All Denim is $10 – but sizes are limited. We especially noted that most of the plus size girls jeans and husky size boys jeans are sold out.

- It’s Final Sale time!
- Save up to 40-60% on most winter and holiday children’s apparel
- Now is the time to consider the “Collection” and various cashmere selections — most marked 50 -60% off, and some as low as 75% off:
- Be careful – No returns or exchanges allowed
- TIP: Cotinue to watch for brief 1-3 day promotions on on Sale Items through the Winter Clearance — such as additional %’s off and Free Shipping.
- TIP: Crewcuts receives their store markdowns each Tuesday after closing. So, Wednesdays are typically the best days to shop.

- Kid’s Semi Annual Sale now in progress – save up to 60% (prices advertised to be effective through January 13, 2009). Additional items are being added to the sale, though we haven’t seen prices dropping yet.
- Sale of the Day: Here’s a deep discount! Rollneck sweaters for girls (horse and kitten designs) for just $12 (reg. $58, 80% savings)
- Gymboree
- Semi-Annual Big Red Balloon Sale now in progress – save up to 60%
- Gymbucks earning is still in progress! Continues through Sunday, January 11. Redemption starts January 13.

- Spring Early Bird Sale - Save 30% on new Hannas
- The remaining selection in winter clearance selection is low, but the deals are high. Sales are advertised at savings up to 75%, but we found some 80% markdowns on-line. We’ve never seen Hannas priced to go like this before — and never this early during a seasonal transition either.
- TIP: If you love Hanna Andersson, it pays to watch the sight on Sundays and Mondays. Sales are often loaded and/or announced on-line before emails are distributed on Tuesdays.
- TIP: Have favorites from last season? They are possibly still available on the website, even if they don’t display. Just type in the catalog SKU’s to search.
- Janie and Jack
- Season Finale Sale – advertised at up to 60% off, but we found deals as low as 70%. It pays to comb through the sale. Markdowns this low is an indicator that within a few weeks, remaining inventory that is currently only 30-40% off will soon also be 60-70% off.
- Justice – Just for Girls
- The Holiday Sale is on-line — save up to 60%
- TIP: Justice and Limited Too gift cards are now good at both stores.
- Subscribe to the mailing list to receive 25% – 30% off coupons for you and a friend on a regular basis.
- Lands End
- Enjoy savings up to 50% at the Winters End sale. Watch for brief 1-3 day Free Shipping offers during the coming weeks. The best way to catch these is to be on the Lands End Mailing List.
- See new Overstocks. and Kid’s selections On the Counter.
- TIP: It’s best to shop these sections when Free Shipping is offered!
- Limited Too

- Winter Sale is on-line – save up to 50%. Check back daily for featured markdowns that are only good that day.
- TIP: Watch for the Thursday Morning Markdown - there is occasionally a great deal for kids.
- Mini Boden
- New markdowns on the End of Season Sale – now save up to 70%. (of course, size selection is running low)
