No Shipping Surprises Here! We’ve Made Shipping Children’s Clothing a Snap!

When we set out to create LoobaLee, our vision was based on a variety of experiences, both positive and negative, with buy and selling children’s clothing (among other things) via on-line auctions. One major negative we set out to improve upon was rampant shipping surprises and exorbitant shipping charges.
We all learned quickly on eBay that a Seller’s Price is interesting, but that a Seller’s Shipping costs and policies are critically important to understand before buying. While eBay has improved their process for helping Seller’s manage Shipping and helping Buyers view and understand Shipping, the behavior of Seller’s “covering themselves” or burying profits in their Shipping Costs remains an issue. This has nothing to do with the tool, but with the human nature of doubt and lack of trust in the process.
So, since we can’t change human nature we changed the process!
We gathered input and defined the key principles that people wanted in Shipping. And what we found is that no one wanted to deal with it! Sellers didn’t want to have to determine their own shipping — it’s time consuming, and the feedback risk is high. Buyers didn’t want to have to focus on shipping — they wanted to trust the process and pay actual shipping charges every time.
We have a proprietary, new, and totally different approach to facilitating Shipping on LoobaLee. We offer standardized shipping based on the estimated weight for an Item. Here’s how it works:
- LoobaLee offers a weight estimate for over 95% of all Items that can be sold our site, which includes packaging materials.
* - Or, a Seller can select their own weight classification for an Item they are Selling
* - LoobaLee calculates actual shipping charges based on the weight of items being purchased and the To/From ZIP cods of the Buyer and Seller
* - Delivery Confirmation is automatically included on every order

We have over 200 different types of children’s clothing and accessories that have been identified and can be listed on LoobaLee. And, given there are over 200 unique sizes identified as well, we have over 40,000 combinations for which we are able to recommend an estimated shipping Weight.
