Happy July – - one of the biggest months for sale shopping of the year! Now is a great time to start building your kids wardrobes for next Spring and Summer. July brings great sales and you can still find good availability in size and styles. While August brings the deepest discounts, it’s also more difficult to find desirable style and size combinations later. So, I use July for “plan-ahead” shopping and I spend August on “get-lucky” shopping.
Specials and sales to consider this week include: ALL major retailers! Seriously – pick your favorite! You should find a at least 40% and up to 70% off — with the best pricing being in stores, vs. on-line. Start watching your local boutiques, too, as they will start marking down in July – usually at about 30%.
- American Girl
- Although Kit has debuted, Deal of the Day continues. Today, you can receive 30% off select historical doll outfits and accessories.
- Check out July’s month specials, where you can save 15 – 20% off selected current merchandise.
- Abercrombie Kids
- Spring Sales – Save 30-50%.
- Baby Gap & Gap Kids
- The Advertised Summer Sale is 40% off, but you can get some deeper discounts by watching the website closely or shopping in stores.
- Last week I found some great $4.99 and $6.99 deals at Gap Kids and Gap Baby. Depending on your store, summer inventory is possibly priced lower than the same merchandise on-line (plus, no shipping costs!)
- Crazy 8
- Save up to 60% on Summer. The best items (in my opinion) are yet to be deeply discounted, but you can now pick up some good deals at 40% off.
- CrewCuts
- J.Crew is updating their website and offering Free Shipping as a token of appreciation for being patient during this process.
- Shop in stores to take an additional 25% off all Summer Sale and Clearance items. Also, you’ll notice many items on sale in the stores that are not on sale on-line.
- I’m watching for more sales in the extensive “Only On-line”, “All Dressed Up”, and “Flowergirls and Party Dresses “sections of the website — these seem to be lagging the rest of the sale, but are loaded with fabulous (and upscale) items. Check out the girls Striped-silk Posy Pouf Skirt for a mere $328 (I wonder how low this one will go)!
- Crewcuts receives their store markdowns each Tuesday after closing. So, Wednesdays are typically the best days to shop.
- Garnet Hill
- Kids Semi-Annual Sale in progress – save up to 60%. Sale is advertised to end July 8. I’ve honestly never seen a season-end sale “end”. Today there are 4 pages of deals $10 and under (let’s watch what happens on July 9).
- Coupon sites, such as Retail Me Not, usually have codes for $10 off $50, $20 off $100, and $50 off $250.
- Sale of the Day: Racerback knit dresses for girls – 50% off ($14.00)
- Gymboree
- The Semi-Annual Big Red Balloon Sale is in progress. Don’t forget….purchasing now is a great way to optimize earning Gymbucks.
- Gymbucks earning ends today for on-line purchases, but continues through July 13 in stores.
- Back-to-School Specials for $10 and $15. If you like the Gymboree School Uniform selections, now may be a good time to pick those up. On other items, I’d recommend waiting.
- $6.00 shipping went up to $6.50! Still, limited time only.

- Have favorites from last season? They are possibly still available on the website, even if they don’t display. Just type in the catalog SKU’s to search.

- Season Finale Sale – save up to 60% and more! Excellent availability still in all sizes.

- Kids Summer-End Savings event is no longer advertise, but the inventory is still on-lin at 30-50% off and more. Check both the “Great Deals” and “Overstocks” sections of the website for Kids.
- There are currently quite a few items for boys and girls “On The Counter“
- The best deals (e.g. 60-85% off) can be found in “Not Quite Perfect” on the website. Check frequently, selections are limited and go fast. Currently there are some Rain Boots and shorts/swim trunks for boys.

- It’s still Double Too Bucks Time! Spend $50 and get $80 in future savings. Get TWO $25 savings cards, each with a $15 off Bonus Card. This is a great time to buy – be sure to spend your initial $50 on Sale and Clearance items to optimize the deal.
- Take an extra 30% off Clearance Apparel on-line, and an extra 50% off in Stores. Lots of summer marked down 30 – 60%
- Choose a Signature beach cooler for $10.00 or lunch tote for $12.50 with any purchase

- The Summer sale is in progress. Save 30-75% off lots of summer items. All Swimwear is now on sale.
- New Backpacks and lunch totes added to the sale. Consider buying last season’s designs and save!
- Watch Thursday for the Thursday Morning Markdown, for an occasional special on kids clothing and gear.

- End of Season Summer Sale is still on-line Up to 25-50% off. Sizes are going fast. Since you will pay a flat $10 in shipping if you order, be sure you purchase enough items to make up this rate (or there goes your sale!)
- Fall Preview is still available, but down from 20% off to 10% off (and with free shipping).
