This is one of my favorite sale weeks of the year! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale commences this Friday, July 18th. And, to ad more excitement to the week, Gymboree’s Gymbucks Redemption starts on Thursday, July 17th. Both Sales should be on-line at 12:01 a.m.
Notice that most of the promotions at the major retailers for Kids Summer Clearance sales have already ended. But, that doesn’t mean the remaining inventory isn’t still available. And, it will be continually discounted until its sold out, too.
Along with Fall introductions comes new season discounts. Watch for 20 – 30% savings before buying anything new for Fall at the big retailer. If it’s not on sale now, it will be soon enough.
Specials and sales to consider this week include: All summer merchandise at all major retailers. Smaller boutique stores are also starting their sales with 20-40% off, so watch on-line and in stores.
- American Girl
- Check out July’s month specials, where you can save 15 – 20% off selected current merchandise.
- Note that previous season Holiday Outfits are still available on-line at 50% off. Based on history, you can easily recoup your costs on these ouftifts.
- Abercrombie Kids
- Spring Sales – Save 30-50% on Boys and Girls in Clearance.
- Baby Gap & Gap Kids
- Summer sales and Clearance now ranging from 30 – 70% off retail. However, you will likely find deeper discounts by shopping in stores (e.g. $2.99 and $3.99 deals).
- Crazy 8
- As suspected, the Semi-Annual Clearance merchandise is still available, just not advertised on the site. Now, you’ll have 1-2 more clicks to find it in the Sale section. I haven’t noticed further discounts yet, but watch carefully, as more discounts are likely to be taken soon. Now, save 40-60% (and occasionally more).
- CrewCuts
- The “Final Sale” is on-line, which means — all sales are final. No returns or exchanges, so shop carefully.
- Shop in stores to take an additional 25% off all Summer Sale and Clearance items.
- I’m watching for more sales in the extensive “Only On-line”, “All Dressed Up”, and “Flowergirls and Party Dresses “sections of the website — these seem to be lagging the rest of the sale, but are loaded with fabulous (and upscale) items. Check out the girls Striped-silk Posy Pouf Skirt for a mere $328 (I wonder how low this one will go)!
- Crewcuts receives their store markdowns each Tuesday after closing. So, Wednesdays are typically the best days to shop.
- Garnet Hill
- The store-wide Semi-Annual clearance is now in progress. Save 20-60%. I haven’t noticed further discounts on kids clothes since the end of the Kids Semi-Annual clearance, but remaining merchandise is still on-line.
- Coupon sites, such as Retail Me Not, usually have codes for $10 off $50, $20 off $100, and $50 off $250.
- Sale of the Day: Girls Summer Sundress. Was $89, today just $29 (a 68% savings).
- Gymboree
- Gymbucks redemption starts this Thursday, July 17th. For you night owls, your Gymbuck codes should work on-line at 12:00 (midnight), or shortly thereafter. Before you shop, take a moment to read my tips on getting the most value for your Buck!
- 20% off coupon mailed to registered customers. Good July 8 – July 27, which overlaps with Gymbucks redemption. Let’s hope the coupon works – the fine print on mine does not mention an exclusion.
- While the Semi-Annual Red Balloon sale is over, you can still find saving sin the Sale section of the site. I’d recommend filling your cart now if you plan to spend your Gymbucks on-line — the best buys won’t last long!

- There are some slim pickings in the “Clearance” section of the site.
- Sneak Preview on School Back Packs and supplies for Fall. Be patient — they will go on sale.
- Have favorites from last season? They are possibly still available on the website, even if they don’t display. Just type in the catalog SKU’s to search.
- Janie and Jack
- Season Finale Sale – save up to 60% and more! Excellent availability still in all sizes.
- $500 Gift Card Sweepstakes. Enter to win. Note: Even if your kids have grown out of Janie and Jack, enter anyway! If you win, it’s an awesome opportunity to buy baby gifts, gifts for friends and family with children, or even clothing to re-sell at Loobalee!
- Lands End Kids
- Kids Summer-End Savings event is no longer advertise, but the inventory is still on-lin at 30-50% off and more. Check both the “Great Deals” and “Overstocks” sections of the website for Kids.
- Stock up on Kids T’s for Fall: 3 for $30.
- There are currently quite a few items for girls “On The Counter“, such as sandals and skorts.
- The best deals (e.g. 60-85% off) can be found in “Not Quite Perfect” on the website. Check frequently, selections are limited and go fast. Currently there are rain boots and swim shorts for boys/girls and some long, corduroy pants for boys.
- Limited Too
- It’s still Double Too Bucks Time! Spend $50 and get $80 in future savings. Get TWO $25 savings cards, each with a $15 off Bonus Card. This is a great time to buy – be sure to spend your initial $50 on Sale and Clearance items to optimize the deal.
- Take an extra 30% off Clearance Apparel on-line, and an extra 50% off in Stores. Lots of summer marked down 30 – 60%
- LL Bean Kids
- The Summer sale is in progress. Save 30-75% off lots of summer items. All Swimwear is now on sale.
- While there’s nothing especially new in the Kids sale section, you may be interested in 20% off on LL Bean’s famous canvas totes, for a limited time. We’ve used ours for toting kid stuff everywhere now for 9 years — and they hardly show any wear and tear.
- Watch each week for the Thursday Morning Markdown, for an occasional special on kids clothing and gear.

- End of Season Summer Sale is still on-line Up to 25-50% off. Sizes are going fast. Since you will pay a flat $10 in shipping if you order, be sure you purchase enough items to make up this rate (or there goes your sale!)

- Summer Lovin’ Sale – Save 40-65% online with probability of even greater savings in stores.
