They're clothes, and how you react to those wearing those clothes is what kids pick up on. I don't put my daughter in the trendy stuff because it's too expensive, she's growing too fast. But if she picked something out she wanted, I'd try to get it or something like it for her. Besides, some kids like to look like their parents, and sometimes their parents are wearing black.
